We came to Ubud, Bali in December 2019 for our honeymoon and would be celebrating the holidays away from home. You can read our full Ubud, Bali Honeymoon Guide here , we stayed 8 days total. Since we would be out of the country for the holidays we thought taking a cooking class would be a great way to spend Christmas! This is when we found Paon's Cooking Class on Tripadvisor and decided to book a class.

Prices: Classes start from 489,000 IDR ($35) per person.

Pick-up is complimentary within the Ubud, Bali area! We were picked up from our hotel and dropped off afterwards - the process was smooth and easy.

What to Expect in the Cooking Class:

Once your driver picks you up from your location, you will take a nice drive through some neighborhoods and arrive to Paon's personal home and community village kitchen. You will be greeted with a refreshing beverage and a few minutes to explore the temple on site. Make sure to wear or bring sleeves if you plan on checking out the temple. The open air village kitchen is set in the beautiful Ubud jungle and has a stunning views and sounds of nature, making this experience the ultimate culinary and cultural delight!

You will be given an apron and gloves, and get to chopping and prepping with your new cooking crew. We had such a fun experience at Paon's cooking class - we made new connections, learned more about Balinese culture, and brought some amazing recipes home with us!

Once everything was cooked we sat down with our new friends and enjoyed a delicious meal together. Cold beverages were also provided! Please enjoy these recipes and I hope you get the chance to visit Ubud, Bali one day and try this awesome cooking class!

We were not the only newlyweds in the cooking class - was a popular activity amongst couples!

This all looks so good. The vegetables with peanut sauce look delicious and I definitely want to try the banana in palm sugar. I love cooking classes when I travel too!
