5 Camping Items to Buy Off Amazon

Finding good camping gear shouldn't be a hassle, and we have found over the years that Amazon has some reliable items that you should consider adding to your gear list. I will preface this by saying there are tons of items I should be linking on here, but I wanted to keep it short and simple for now. Let me know in the comments if you've bought any great camping gear off Amazon you love!

Tent

We've always owned a Coleman tent when it comes to camping, simply because they stand the test of time and their reputation for quality is superior. Before we upgraded to the 6 Person Montana Coleman Tent, we were using a 2 person Coleman tent that had been passed down and used since the 80's!

Even though we are only 2 people (+1 Dog Child) using this tent, I love the 6 person because we have enough space to put our Queen Mattress, a corner for our clothes, and space to stand and change our clothes in the morning. If we have friends without camping gear, then there would be space to share if we had to!

Some Extra Benefits:

  • Easy Set-Up with Carry Bag

  • Angled Windows for Circulation even in Rain

  • Storage Pockets + Extension Cord Insert

  • Rain Fly Included + Weather/Wind Proof

  • Open Ceiling for Seeing the Stars at Night

Hammock

We bought a hammock a few years ago at Walmart and to our demise never used it until recently! BUT when we did, we were kicking ourselves for never seizing the opportunity to swing peacefully in a cocoon of awesomeoness. No but seriously, hang your hammock up and it makes for the perfect nap spot, read a book, or just enjoy lying horizontally. We need to order a two person hammock, so I linked one that had really good reviews!

Cast Iron Skillets

I think the only choice for skillets while cooking should be Cast Iron Skillets! We hadn't invested in a cast iron skillet until recently actually, so I don't blame you if you haven't yet either! It's not only my favorite camping accessory, but also my favorite in home kitchen item! We personally have the 12 inch + 8 Inch - the small is great for desserts!

  • Safely Used on the Stove ,Oven, Grill, and Over a Campfire

  • Heat Distribution is the Best due to the Dense Metal of Iron

  • Naturally Seasoned + Easy to Clean

  • Cook a Variable Amount of Items! We've made desserts, pizzas, soups, stews and so much more in our Cast Iron!

Gas Stove

This is an essential item all car campers should own. Gas stoves are consistently reliable and a safe choice to bring if you plan on boiling water, and cooking hot foods. We also partake in cooking over the fire, and we have a charcoal grill, but a gas stove is always a winner. We particularly love this 3 burner Coleman stove as it's the perfect size and very portable to bring and comfortably cook on, compared to smaller stoves we've used.

  • Reliable to Light in all Weather Conditions (Rain + Wind especially)

  • Much Like a Stove at Your Home So it Should Be Familiar unlike Cooking over the Fire and Charcoal

  • Controllability of Heat - It's much harder to "turn down the heat" on a fire lol!

  • Necessary for Boiling Water

  • Tabletop Item.- Making Your Cooking Experience more Comfortable

Percolator + Coffee Cone

Making coffee during camping can either be a daunting task, or something to take pleasure in. We personally make coffee at home with this same Cone Dripper so naturally its the easiest item for us to bring, and still make a high quality cup. We also have a Coffee Percolator as it supposedly makes some of the best camping coffee out there. With a percolator, you put your coffee grounds and water all in one vessel and it does the job - no waste and easy to clean up. Be sure to look up the specific coffee grind size for the percolator or else it may taste funny!

I'm sure there are some more items I could add, but we always bring these items with us and I'd love to know if you currently have any items you've purchased off of Amazon!
