LOGE Mt.Shasta Review: Budget Friendly Adventure Hotel

If you love a California outdoor adventure, you must add this camp themed budget hotel in Mt.Shasta to your Northern California road trip. LOGE Mt.Shasta offers an unparalleled outdoor enthusiasts lodging experience, including a hammock and Yeti cooler outfitted in each room, as well as communal fire pits and a kitchen to make your stay more comfortable.

LOGE Mt.Shasta not only provides hotel accommodations, but they also have small covered campsites and hostel bunks on the property if that is more your style!

This small chain of adventure-themed hotels has several locations on the West Coast including Bend, Oregon, Westport, Washington, Leavenworth, Washington, Breckenridge, Colorado, and recently Mt. Shasta, California.

After an incredible stay at the riverside cabins at the LOGE Camps Hotel in Leavenworth, Washington, I was thrilled to know that a LOGE location had finally opened in California.

We've been visiting the Mt.Shasta area for a few years now, and I must confess that this small town only has a few hotel options. I am thrilled that the LOGE hotel has taken over and remodeled the former Finlandia Motel, providing a new alternative for when we visit the area. It's undoubtedly the "trendiest" stay in town, while also being budget-friendly.

When you drive up to the hotel, which is surrounded by pine trees, the exterior immediately gives you a modern cabin feel. With a mix of dark and light woods, string lights, and cozy fire pits, it feels quaint and serene. Mountain murals on the buildings add to the hip and modern mountain vibe, and we couldn't wait to start exploring the property.

As someone who enjoys camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities, I am always on the lookout for unique properties to stay in while traveling that allow access to the outdoors while remaining relatively affordable. So far, some of my favorite outdoor-inspired hotels include the Boat B&B in Newport, OR, and the jungle villa in Bali.

When you arrive, you will be texted a lock key code that will allow you to check into your room. This virtual check in process has always been one of my preferences, and it's especially useful during COVID or if you're more of an introvert! Not to worry, there are attendants in the "lobby" to assist you if necessary.

The main building has a small walk-up cafe that serves breakfast pastries, beer and wine, as well as a full-service coffee bar and other products for purchase during your stay. I ended up buying sunglasses, ramen and several beers, which came in handy while sitting outside on the outdoor patio!

If you go up one level, there is a common space with couches for relaxing, a pot belly stove, and dining tables. A communal kitchen is also connected, which I have never seen before at any hotel! It's a full-service kitchen that guests are welcome to use; just remember to clean your dishes!

LOGE Mt.Shasta is conveniently located less than a mile from Downtown Mt.Shasta, providing an outdoors experience for guests who want to participate in the recreation that this alpine paradise has to offer.

I really loved the communal aspect of LOGE. We enjoyed utilizing the community fire pits, and socializing with other guests over a few drinks from the on-site bar. The night was then finished off with some top-ramen in the communal kitchen, which provided all of the necessary utensils and kitchen supplies for stove-top cooking! We rented Snowshoes for $15 for the following morning and made these reservations before to checking in via their online reservation system.

I would love to come back in the Summer or Early Fall to enjoy the live music and events that are offered on their outdoor stage and patio.

First and foremost, I will state that this hotel is not without flaws, and it could definitely benefit from some improvements, particularly in the room department. Although it is well-decorated and supplied with unique outdoor gear such as the Kammock Hammock and Yeti cooler, it could use some sprucing up. Remnants of the old motel still linger in the small details, and I hope they can renovate and update a little more in the future!

I wish the bed and linens had been upgraded; it's a good place to rest your head after a full day of exploring, but don't expect five-star luxury. I only note this because our stay at the Leavenworth Riverside location felt different in terms of quality, the cabins were presumably brand new, so it felt much cleaner at that location.

Although I really adore the camping theme, and it translates well in their interior decor, plus it really sets the tone for an enjoyable weekend exploring Mt.Shasta!

You can try out some of their merchandise during your stay, and you even have the choice to purchase it if you like! We purchased a beer coozie during one of our visits!

For $100-$200+/night, it's certainly worth staying at the LOGE Mt.Shasta hotel for its affordability and nature-inspired getaway.
